Yonsei University, Day 9

Before the trip even began, we already heard legends about Yonsei University – it is known to house some of the best looking students around. Of course, we were excited to visit the institution not just for the sole purpose of its eye candy but also to experience what it would be like to walk the grounds of one of the best universities in South Korea.

Yonsei University is highly regarded as one of the top 3 universities in South Korea (along with Seoul International University and Korea University, making up the trio of “SKY” Universities) and dates far back to 1885. However, in was only formally established in 1957 through the merger of Yonhi College and Severance Union Medical College, combining the first syllable of each school in Korean to form the name Yonsei.

The campus does indeed live up to its reputation with its vast size, grand buildings and tasteful mixture of modern and old school architecture. Besides being given a tour around Yonsei University, we also had a taste of the scrumptious and affordable meals the school cafeteria offered and even got to visit the school merchandise store to browse through the selection of hoodies, sweaters, varsity jackets, caps, decals and many more items branded with the Yonsei University logo. For a moment, we did actually feel like we were students there.

Of course, a girl can only dream. For now, I still need to strive for painfully good grades before I start thinking about studying in the pristine Yonsei University. For more on our experience there, check out the video below!
